Radiology of Kaschin-Beck's disease and its correlation with pathology

150 bone specimens obtained from 8 autopsied children with Kashin-Beck's disease were comparatively studied radiologically and pathologically. It is found that the X-ray signs appearing serially are all changes during the repairing process or dysosteogenesis, elimination, organization and ossification of the necrotic matter in the necrosis area of the cartilage. Repair signs are mild at the early stage and marked at the late stage. After reconstruction and modeling, the pathologic changes disappear or become stable or result in deformity.
