Rectal bladder. Evaluation of its tolerance

The present study evaluates urinary diversion by the Mauclaire procedure (rectal bladder) performed in 13 patients who had undergone total cystectomy. The analytical, radiological and urodynamic parameters are studied, as well as the patient's subjective evaluation. The results show that despite the good dynamic function achieved by this procedure, it appears to be poorly-tolerated and patient discomfort is a major complaint.
