Leiomyomatosis peritonealis disseminata is a rare, benign tumoral disease. A 40-year-old women underwent laparatomy for arrest of the intestinal transit. A tumor was found in the rectouterine space, stenosing the sygmoid, and also multiple small peritoneal tumors. Suspect of malignant tumor and in absence of a department of pathology, an artificial anus was carried out. At a second intervention in a university clinic, the histologic diagnosis established intraoperatively was leiomyomatosis peritonealis disseminata; the tumoral mass was resected together with an ileal loop adhering to the tumor, and the peritoneal tumoral nodules. The histologic examination and the patient's favourable evolution for 3 1/2 years cofirmed the diagnosis and its benign character.
