Efficacy of wet ice as a refrigerant for transport of oral polio vaccine

If wet ice is recharged at every 48 h, oral polio vaccine can be maintained for a long period under the prescribed storage conditions. The potency of the vaccine is unaffected. The results of the present study indicate the feasibility of transport and storage of oral polio vaccine in rural areas where refrigeration facilities may not be available.
