The paper presents the present knowledge on morbidity and mortality from leukemia in relation to cytological types taking into consideration statistical data from Poland and other countries. The differences in trends of leukemia mortality in several countries and geographical distribution are also described. The author's own interpretation of the above changes is also presented.
