Patients (100) with toxic food infections were treated with ORS, ORS with Na hydrocitrate and gastrolyte. Oral rehydration therapy is an effective method for the pathogenetic treatment of patients with acute intestinal infections. The clinical symptoms of intoxication disappeared more slowly when gastrolyte and ORS with Na bicarbonate were used, compared with the use of ORS with Na citrate. More complete normalization of disturbed electrolyte metabolism was observed when ORS with Na citrate and bicarbonate was observed, compared with the use of gastrolyte.
