An accelerated method of determining diaminopimelic acid in bacterial cells

Modification of the rapid method is suggested to determine isomers of diaminopimelic acid in bacterial whole-cell hydrolysates. The essence of the method is in the fact that cells ( .apprxeq. 30 mg) grown on the agarized medium are hydrolyzed in 6 N HCl during 1 h at 120.degree. C and the preparations are analyzed by the method of paper chromatography.
