Juglone content was highest in the fruit coat (50 mg/100 g); in the leaves it varied from 5 to 15 mg/100 g. The leaf tannin content was about 5% and essential oil content about 0.02%. The leaf oil was partitioned into about 40 components of which 18 were authenticated. The leaf oil contained > 25% sesquiterpenes.
