Histochemical and histoenzymological techniques were used to study the effects of hypothermia induced by exposure to low temperatures, the administration of a lytic "cocktail", and the combined action of both on the testicles of white Wistar rats. The most striking results observed were a reduction of glycogen and increased RNA and vitamin C in the hypothermic rats. With regard to enzymatic activities, alkaline phosphatase dropped in the groups that received the lytic "cocktail" alone or in combination, acid phosphatase dropped in all groups, SDH, LDH, and ATP-ase activity showed very different changes between groups.
