The effect of soil temperatures on the pathogenicity of Pratylenchus penetrans to onions was studied under glasshouse conditions. Equal numbers of inoculated and control plants were harvested from 3 to 12 weeks after germination and top and root weight recorded. Inoculated roots were incubated for one week in constantly aerated tap water and the total number of nematodes to emerge from each batch of 6 plants was counted.
