Differentiation between functional and organic changes in the myocardium is essential for choosing treatment modality and, particularly, premedication. Individually-tailored application of standard pharmacological ECG tests using atropine, inderal and other drugs is still justified. They are more available than some newly-developed methods which are diagnostically superior.
