The Cockayne syndrome (C.S.) is an autosomal recessive syndrome described for the first time in 1936. In 1982 Lowry suggested that classic C.S. patients be known as C.S. Type I, while those with a congenital onset be put into C.S. Type II, the major distinction being age of onset. The authors describe in this paper two cases of C.S. Type II in two brothers and discuss the clinical and radiological findings.
