Due to its relative facility and its low morbidity, the endoscopic intubation of cancers of the esophagus is the best alternative to surgery for palliative treatment. The low level of suffering, the short hospitalization, immediate feeding, and the low cost are the major advantages in comparison to painful surgery requiring a long hospitalization and great investment. The choice of treatment should always be made by a multidisciplinary team that is experienced in the indications and limits of each method for each particular case.
