8 patients with genital schistosomiasis were seen at Tembisa Hospital, Pretoria, South Africa, from June to August 1985. Diagnosis was made based on the presence of ova in a wet smear of the cervix (in 7 cases) and in a vulval ulcer (in one case). In all cases the ova were Schistosoma haematobium.
