Medical faculties have various specific features. These should be identified and considered in order to develop and cover all functions of the medical faculties for the society needs and requirements. The specific features of medical faculties may be considered in comparison with other faculties and Universities, but also in relation to medical practice. Medical faculties fulfill educational, scientific and therapeutic-preventive tasks. The fulfillment of these main tasks is mutually related. In each area of activity, however, there are specific features characterizing precisely medical faculties. The paper reviews these features.
