Changes in functional and psychological disorders in a 5-year period in teachers and managers

The changes of functional and psychic complaints were studied at a population of 150 teachers and 81 managers in a five-year interval. The "Complaints- and behavioural-Questionnaires" (BFB and VFB) by Hock and Hess were used. A significant increase of complaints relevant to neurosis after five years was shown for teachers, and there were no significant changes for the group of managerial staff. 35% of teachers and 28% of managerial personnel with conspicious findings in the first examination changed from the conspicious category to the normal or from the category "very probably neurotic" to "questionably neurotic" five years later. The results are discussed in terms of the subjective health state of working people.
