In the paper three indices have been introduced by means of which body mass was related to certain functions of chest circumference; physical dimensions of these indices having been length-, surface- and volume density. Procedures of body mass estimation have been proposed where these indices were engaged and an analysis of information efficiency for any one among these procedures carried out; the results derived through an application of the theoretical formulas in the anthropological data indicated explicitly that the prediction was most efficient in the case when the 2nd power of chest circumference has been used. In our preceding papers the method based on the K-index proved to be most efficient (among all predictors of the type having been considered), this index having been mean density human body was taking in the cylinder given by the stature and chest circumference. Estimated value of body mass have been compared with those measured directly, in the set of 540 adult males. Besides this, some inequalities have been derived for the residual sum of square deviations between the actual and estimated values of body mass; in such a way also the condition has been found under which the prediction in question turned to be informationally inefficient.
