Reaction of satellite cells in lumbar spinal ganglia of dog after repeated aortic ligation was studied. The satellite cells showed an increase in endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex and filaments. The mitochondria displayed a higher density of their matrix. In some cells numerous vacuoles and lipid droplets were observed. Changes of cell nuclei and organelles were also evaluated quantitatively. Ultrastructural findings and morphometry have shown that changes observed during survival period (1-6 days) gradually returned to normal level.
