Fine needle aspiration cytology of thyroid

Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) was performed in 84 cases, presenting with thyroid nodule. These cases were classified into Inflammatory, benign, Papillary, carcinoma, Anaplastic carcinoma and Follicular carcinoma on cytomorphological examination. The diagnoses were correlated with histological diagnosis. The usefulness of this simple technique is discussed.
