Systemic diseases in women with changes in the cervix uteri with suspicious cytological and colposcopic findings

A statistical analysis was done of the correlation between the occurrence of cervical lesions in 238 women with suspected results of colposcopic-cytological examination aged 18 to 70 years and the presence of organ diseases. It was found that in women with cervical lesions and with suspected result of colposcopic-cytological examination in a high percent of cases (71.7%) coexistent systemic diseases were present. In women with cervical dysplasia and malignant cervical lesions (group II of women) gastric and duodenal ulcer were significantly more frequent. In view of the small population of patients the analysis suggested the usefulness of further studies on the correlation between these diseases.
