165 blood samples were tested for settling the disputed paternity problems in 50 cases. ABO, Rhesus and MNSs blood group systems and haemoglobin electrophoretic patterns were used to investigate these problems. It was possible to exclude the putative father in 11 instances with our limited resources. 5 were based on ABO, 5 on MNSs antigens and one on the presence of an abnormal haemoglobin in the child which was absent both in the mother and in the putative father. Rhesus antigens were not found helpful in the present series.
