The AIDS epidemic continues to spread at a rapid rate with a doubling of the number of reported cases every 9 to 12 months. The impact of AIDS in the workplace is just beginning to be felt and the number of disabled workers will increase substantially over the next few years. Employees who have been infected with the AIDS retrovirus can be allowed to work without risk to fellow employees. The CDC has published recommendations for preventing the transmission of AIDS in the workplace.
