Primary cerebral malignant fibro-xanthoma

A primary intracerebral fibro-xanthoma is reported in a 36-year-old woman. The histological features included abundant reticulin fibre formation and intracellular neutral fat. Glial fibrillary acidic protein could not be identified and the tumour was not considered to be astrocytomatous. Recurrence within three years and cytological features of malignancy indicated a poor prognosis although the tumour was relatively slowly growing.
