This article on literature, writing and drama clubs organized for young people in Sweden was written in connection with a conference in Umea, Sweden, on 12-13 March 1990. A brochure published by Statens Kulturrad on these clubs and a report by M. Ullstrom on a literature club in Ransberg have spread the idea throughout Sweden. The clubs have been very successful and popular and have widened the horizons of young people, stimulating writing, reading and acting in a recreational setting. Staff have included writers, librarians, actors and producers.
