107 cases of testicular biopsies have been reviewed and discussed for the following purposes: -To analyze their histomorphologic aspects and to establish a relationship with clinical picture. -To point out the meaning and the importance of testicular biopsy in the diagnosis of male infertility. Testicular biopsy shows itself to be an unresignable diagnostic tool under numerous points of view, some of which are hereby recalled: -It permits to evaluate the degree of maturation of the testis and particularly of the germinal series. -It has got a resolutive value in post-testicular infertility. -It is conclusive in order to foresee the chance of recovery before and after orchidopexy. -It constitutes the rational basis for medical and surgical therapy of male infertility.
