Results of an epidemiologic study on an imported case of typhoid fever, diagnosed through hemoculture, where Salmonella typhi phagotype E1 sensitive to chloramphenicol was isolated, are showed. It seems that the patient acquired the disease during hospitalization for malaria at a hospital in Angola. Need and importance of a multidisciplinary working staff for Epidemiologic Surveillance, as well as to have in mind health conditions in each concerning country in order to be able to make a timely diagnosis in front of any sick international traveler, is made evident.
