The Radovan soft tissue expander allows progressive distension of skin, mucosal and muscle tissue. The process is based on the elastic properties of soft tissues, and seems highly suitable for the technical refinements of plastic surgery. It provides a new therapeutic approach with better use of adjacent flaps and greater use of regional flaps. It also makes a major contribution to the solution of donor site problems. Postmastectomy reconstruction is one of the best indications for its use. This article reports three cases - a postmastectomy reconstruction, a chin reconstruction after a bullet wound, and a total nose reconstruction.
