Feather loss syndrome in cockatoos

A specific disorder of feathering occurred among cockatoos in the wild as well as in captivity. Histological changes are described. An unidentified virus (possibly a papovavirus) isolated from an affected salmon-crested cockatoo (Cacuta moluccensis) has been passaged 18 times.
