Evaluation of the functional state of patients with ischemic heart disease based on the degree of energy expenditure during physical load

Study of 30 patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) with the same exercise tolerance and comparison of the processes of oxygen transport and consumption revealed dissimilar muscular activity energy expenditures in patients with IHD of the same functional class. High energy expenditures are attended by low effectiveness of the hemodynamic supply. Disturbances of oxygen balance occurring due to high metabolic demands and inadequate oxygen transport enable one to detect patients with a most unfavourable course of the disease even among the patients of the same functional class.
