Observations over 90 patients with primary gout have been generalized: renal pathology was diagnosed in 85.6 per cent and chronic renal failure (CRF) in 41.6 per cent of the patients. The incidence of CRF is presented depending on the disease course and the character of nephropathy. Glomerulonephritis diagnosed in 6 patients who died of uremia was the most unfavourable sign of renal affection. Arterial hypertension was revealed in 62.5 per cent of CRF patients. Diminished renal function was accompanied by heightened proteinuria and decreased uraturia. Signs of uremic toxemia in patients with gout were observed in rare cases and were mildly pronounced.
