In 76 dispensarized patients with Hodgkin's disease the authors examined repeatedly the plasma fibrinogen level in different stages of the neoplastic process. Markedly raised values were recorded in untreated patients, during a relapse of the disease and in case of an intercurrent infection. In the period of complete remission the fibrinogen values are almost identical as in the control group. The diagnostic value of fibrinogen estimations was correlated with the red cell sedimentation rate. There was a close regression relationship in the active stage of the disease.
