In the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, Fasciola hepatica parasitation seems to be limited to the higher and raining lands since that the lower and arid area are free of this kind of parasites. Fossaria modicella is the only species found in 6 locations in the Central Region of the State; however the specimen collected in the higher lands (1800 mts on the sea level) were very susceptibles, on the ohter hand those collected in low and arid lands (1600 mts on the sea level or less) were completely refractories to the parasite. Redias were found on the kidney and lungs and they can be seen through the shell with the help of a magnifying lens. The most of parasited snails die but the survivals free infective metacercarias that parasitize experimental animals.
