Laparoscopic cholecystostomy as the 1st stage in the surgical treatment of patients with mechanical jaundice

Laparoscopic cholecystostomy (LCS) combined with bile reinfusion into the jejunum enables elimination of jaundice, improvement of liver function and homeostasis parameters in patients suffering from protracted and intensive jaundice. Among the 44 patients operated on by using LCS after decompression of the bile ducts no cases of developing acute hepatic insufficiency were recorded.
