Growth in three anthropometric measures in Kashmiri Pandit school-going boys with some observations on the efficiency of mixed-longitudinal analysis of human growth

In a mixed longitudinal study Kashmiri PandPandit schoolboys were measured for weight, height and chest circumference. Estimates of mean distance, velocity and variance at each age between 7 and 16 years were made combining the longitudinal and cross-sectional elements. The mixed-longitudinal method of growth analysis was found better than the cross-sectional method when the degree of longitudinal element was > 60% and the correlation between yearly measurements was of the order of 0.90.
