EEG asymmetry was studied in mono- and dizygotic twins. The degree of the relative effect of genotype and environment on the characteristics of interhemispheric EEG asymmetry was determined. The EEG of temporal leads was characterized by the greatest asymmetry. The left temple was more activated. Almost no concordant pairs with respect to asymmetry were detected. Six pairs of monozygotic pairs with marked EEG asymmetry in temporal leads were found. Monozygotic and dizygotic twins did not show intrapair similarity in the coefficient of absolute asymmetry, which did not depend on the side the character prevailed, i.e. the degree of EEG asymmetry was not rigidly determined by the genotype.
