Clinical course of psoriatic arthropathy in children

The beginning and course of psoriatic arthropathy are analysed by observation of 21 cases. The beginning was usually subacute with involvement of one or several joints. The course was usually moderately severe and the process involved several or many joints. Significant differences were demonstrated between the course of the disease in boys and girls. A very severe course of arthropathy with involvement of many joints was observed only in boys, and such cases accounted for nearly half the number of boys in this material (6 out of 13). On the other hand, in half the number of girls remissions were obtained, while in the remaining girls the course of the disease was moderately severe.
