Fifty-eight patients with pain in the head and throat, 26 of them, with clincal symptoms of carotidynia, were subjected to clinical and thermographic examination. The affected side of the neck is remarkably warmer in the a. carotis area. Thermography represents in important contribution to the diagnosis of carotidynia. Thermographic picture changed with therapeutic response. The risen temperature of the involved area supports the inflammatory etiology of the carotidynia.
