Course of acute lymphoblastic leukemia with marked initial hyperleukocytosis at a young age

The problems are considered of the current course of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in young age with dramatically pronounced initial hyperleukocytosis (over 200 .cntdot. 109/1). In 3 of 5 patients remission was recorded, among them being a patient with the initial casuistically high hyperleukocytosis (925 .cntdot. 109/l). Treatment of patients with this variant of acute leukemia is thought to be not absolutely hopeless.
