17 three-month-old sheep were inoculated with plasma membranes from tumorous lymph nodes of leukotic cattle. Antibodies to a membrane-associated antigen of the tumour cells were found in the serum, but only against the extract from one of four tested tumours. This humoral immunity failed to suppress subsequent bovine leukosis virus infection.
