Results are presented of measurements on sound propagation in the environments of a large industrial plant under different meteorological conditions. Noise emmission over large distances is strongly influenced by wind direction. Evaluating the results, indications and recommendations are given with regard to planning and execution of emmission measurements in the environment of noise sources and in muncipial areas, respectively, considering wind direction and other meteorological factors.
