Upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage represents a major complication in trauma. A retrospective study of our autopsy material was performed in all cases where acute gastroduodenal ulcerations were expected to occur. A special interest was paired to the definition of population at risk for the development of stress ulcer and to the improvement of diagnostic, prophylactic and therapeutic procedures.
