The application of pure tones in audiometric practice has two main limitations: the audiometry in children and the audiometry in open field. Nowadays other sounds have been introduced for these testings, that is to say the narrow band tones. The topic of this paper deals with the comparison between the audiometric thresholds of pure tonal audiometry and those resulting from the use of narrow bande tones (with earphones).
