In the prevention and control of clostridium infections, the knowledge of the main pathogens, their biotope, the conditions under which infections may occur, as well as of the diagnostic possibilities is a precondition for therapeutical decisions and hygienical measures to be taken. As for the directly concerning institutions such infections are rare events, there are uncertainties again and again in this connection, which shall be reduced by this work.
