A study was conducted to assess the awareness of school children about HIV/AIDS in Delhi, India, during 1 August-31 October 2005, and to provide suggestions for school AIDS education. 2592 students (1037 boys and 1555 girls; mean age, 15.8+or-0.8 years) belonging to Classes 9-11 from 48 public and 12 private schools answered a predesigned proforma including multiple choice questions.
