An account is given of a case of large esophageal lipoma. The rarity of this lesion and the difficulty of forming a correct diagnosis prior to surgery are discussed. The lesion in question was, in fact, correctly identified by means of conventional examinations. CT alone, however, permitted its typing and exact staging.
