Vietnam 2002: results from the demographic and health survey

This paper presents the results of the Vietnam Demographic and Health Survey 2002, which included data on demography, socioeconomic status, fertility, fertility preferences, contraception, marital status, assistance during delivery, postpartum variables (e.g., breast feeding, amenorrhoea), infant mortality, and disease prevention and treatment. Data were collected from 7048 rural and urban households in Vietnam, and complete interviews were carried out among 5665 ever-married women aged 15-49 years between 1 October and 21 December 2002.
