Local infiltration hypothermia and its use in arresting hemorrhages

Local infiltration hypothermia was used to stop hemorrhage in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcer, trauma of the kidney and hemorrhoids. Infiltration hypothermia was used in combination with other hemostatic measures. No pain or other unpleasant sensations due to hyothermia were observed in most cases. The method is based on infiltrating the cellular tissue surrounding the source of hemorrhage or partially adjacent to it using cooled liquid.
