First branchial cleft cyst presenting as a mass within the external auditory canal

A case of a serous cyst in the external auditory canal is reported, which is believed to be the first such occurrence in the reported literature. Its possible relationship to the first branchial cleft cyst is discussed. The lesion was marsupialized and did not recur during a period of two years' observation.
