Production of KU-ABO preparations in hospitals for the treatment of hemolytic disease of the newborn

Results are reported obtained producing under hospital conditions of KU-ABO preparations used in a newborn department for exchange transfusions and complementary transfusions in cases of the haemolytic disease of the newborn caused by serological incompatibility in the ABO system. Over 2 years of experience and observations made possible an evaluation of the possibility of producing KU-ABO preparations in hospital with an appropriate selection of blood donors with 0 Rh minus group, with respect to the titre of isoagglutinins incompatible with respect to the antigen of the newborns not exceeding 1:8.
