Advantages of digital angiography in the study of vascular and parenchymal pathology in childhood

The experience on 54 cases of vasculo-parenchimal pathology of paediatric age studied in our Institution in the last thirty (february '83-june '85) by venous or arterial DSA is reported. The advantages are analyzed provided by DSA in these patients, first represented by: highly satisfying and constant image quality obtained with general anaesthesia and controlled suspended breathing; minimal pharmacological and technical invasivity. A partial revision of diagnostic protocols, based on these considerations, may be proposed.
